The Cinier story began in 1975 when Michel Cinier started his own heating, ventilation and air conditioning company in Sète, a small fishing town in the south of France. Though he was running a very successful business and was starting his own family, he was always drawn to invention and wanted to reimagine the way people heat and cool their home. Over the next five years he worked on this idea and created the first radiator prototype in 1983.
He entered his prototype into the SITEVI exposition and won the trophy for product innovation earning a job with the Wines of Bordeaux. Encouraged by this early success, he partnered with the Arles School of Engineering and continued to improve on his design.
In 1990, the first commercial radiator prototype with hydronic technology was offered for sale to the general public, offering a new and extraordinary way of heating the home. Since then, both of the Cinier children have joined the company. Michel’s daughter Cinier is the creative director and Stephan is the worldwide marketing director.
The craftsmen at Cinier have reimagined the radiator by combining the latest technology with Michel Cinier’s artistic vision and transformed it into a decorative work of art, creating new designs with a level of creativity such than the design often becomes even more valuable to the customer than the technical performance of the product.
The custom made radiators from Cinier are made using the latest technology and design techniques, creatively delivering excellence in the art of heating; always with an eye for environmental concerns.
Since 1990, Cinier Paris has been the only company in the world that makes products of this kind. Made with Olycal stone developed from raw materials taken from the Pyrenees Mountains in Southwest France, their collection hand crafted radiators and towel warmers are an elegant addition to any home.
Johanne Cinier, creative director at the Cinier company, finds her inspiration in colors when creating new towel warmer & radiator designs, and those designs become a complete representation of contemporary art.
